Pyramid Power's Community Program
Gordonvale’s own Pyramid Power Australian Rules and Sporting Club Inc have created an Australian and probably a World First Youth Community Program.
Called the Pyramid Power Community Program it has initially 5 key pillars of work which is driven by our Local Youth Aged Club Members.
1/ The Power of caring -
Visiting and supporting sick kids at Cairns Hospital Children's Ward
2/ The Power of Respect -
Visiting and helping elderly at Local Aged Care Centres
3/ Power of Anzacs -
Helping set up and run Anzac Day
4/ Power of Support -
Helping support the running of The Great Pyramid Race
5/ Power of Hope -
Raise money for a "Make a Wish" for kid/s from Cairns Hospital Children's Ward
"In a society where it just seems to be "take, take, take" we want our members to experience the Power and Joy of Giving and the value it gives to everyone including themselves", Power’s President Jimmy Floyd said.
"Youth are sometimes talked about negatively and our kids want to show and prove that they are beautiful, caring people if given a chance.
It is a win for everyone - the community, our club and the "Power Youth" themselves.”
